Is There Room in Your PC?

Take a closer look. These pictures do not come from House Digest magazine. This is a beautifully-executed PC case modification, commonly known as a "case mod." It comes from a very creative Russian, and gives this PC a homey mood inside. Notice how he cleverly uses the motherboard as part of the room. It is not uncommon in Europe to hang rugs on walls to help insulate and absorb sounds. The various components on the board also help add to the ambience. For example, the bookshelves are actually PCI connectors and the portrait on the wall is really a microchip.

Edible Chocolate Couch Cake

This lovely sofa is really edible art! Created by Argentine sculptor Leandro Erlich, this replica of Mies van der Rohe’s Barcelona couch is actually a chocolate cake! It was created for a one-time event exhibition called "Let Them Eat Art." The name of the piece is “You Can’t Have Your Cake and Eat It Too.” Ironically, the cake was actually eaten by the attendees.

Insiders report the texture of the piece actually felt like a leather couch. However, all of the icing details are actually made of chocolate.




The Exhibit
The piece was made for an decadent and wild event exhibit called "Let Them Eat Art," hosted by the Haunch of Venizon. True to the name and nature of the event, attendees devoured the couch that evening, leaving only a few crumbs.




The Artist
Leandro Erlich prefers architecturally-inspired, multi-faceted experiential sculpture. He often includes environmental augmentations, like sounds and mood lighting, as part of the piece to maximize audience participation in experiencing his art.

Moscow Wears a Crown of Light

[October 2009] This crown of light spotted over Moscow, apparently filmed in real time by someone driving on a large roadway, has sparked many imaginative explanations. The lion's share of speculation centered on UFO's and alien visitation. Others conjectured it to be proof of secret Russian weapons testing. The scientific community and skeptics the world over believe this is simply a rare weather phenomenon.
